our beliefs
Kairos is an ecumenical fellowship of churches, pastors and leaders. We are unapologetically Christian and hold to the teachings of the historic Christian faith. To summarize the essential doctrines that we hold to, we look to one of the oldest confessions of faith in Church History, the Nicene Creed. We offer fellowship to all Christian churches, pastors and leaders who can agree with these words.

THE COUNCIL OF NICEA 325A.D.
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

KAIROS DISINCTIVES
Although the Creed provides Kairos with its foundational beliefs, there are some key doctrinal distinctives that make Kairos uniques as a fellowship.
WE ARE EMPOWERED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present-day power and availability of all of the biblical spiritual gifts for all believers. We emphasize the necessity of every believer being filled with the Holy Spirit so that they may be empowered for effective Christian Ministry and conformed into the image of Jesus Christ.
WE affirm women in ministry
While we believe and affirm that God's design is for the man to provide, protect, love and serve as priest in his home; we believe that in His Church, God by His Spirit gives gifts to His children to be faithfully used in the body without respect to gender. We further believe that this applies to all ordained offices of the church.
WE embrace autonomy and episcopacy
We believe in the authority of each local church to govern its own affairs without interference; however we also embrace the biblical model of episcopacy (The Bishopric) as a covering to serve pastors and churches in instances where there is an issue that is beyond their ability to address locally. It is our pledge that Kairos will never unnecessarily infringe on a church's autonomy but it is our expectation that all members to submit to the authority of the fellowship when asked, and that they also take advantage of the blessing of covering provided.
